The Energy and Water Agency (EWA) and the Environment and Resources Authority (ERA) would like to invite you for a stakeholder consultation session in preparation for the development of the 3rd River Basin Management Plan. This management plan, which is jointly being prepared by EWA and ERA, will outline the main challenges which need to be addressed for the achievement of good status for Malta’s water resources and the measures which need to be implemented to progressively achieve good status conditions.

The 3rd River Basin Management Plan will outline the main challenges which need to be addressed for the achievement of good status for Malta’s water resources and the measures which need to be implemented to progressively achieve good status conditions. The aim of this consultation session is to discuss the measures to be included as part of the 3rd River Basin Management Plan and to enable this plan to comprehensively address Malta’s water management challenges whilst ensuring an integrated and sustainable approach to water management in the Maltese islands.

This conference will outline the current status of our water resources through three dedicated sessions focusing on groundwater, surface waters and our coastal waters. Following the identification of the gaps to the achievement of good status in the respective water typology, a panel discussion will be facilitated to allow for the general public and interested stakeholders to come up with proposals for measures which can contribute to the achievement of good status. The stakeholder consultation conference will also include presentations from foreign speakers to outline the approach and measures adopted in other European members states for integrated water management.

If you are interested in attending, kindly register attendance by calling on 2777 2777 or email on [email protected].
